Trainers:
Kathleen Sarmiento, DSW, MS, LMFT and Breanna Carlos are ASIST Trainers. Dr. Sarmiento has over 14 years of experience in the mental health field in Southern CA. Breanna has extensive training as a S.U.P.E.R. Peer Counselor and is currently pursuing her degree in Psychology. They specialize in working to decrease the amount of suicide attempts and deaths in our community.

Who is the training for?
ASIST is a two-day, two-trainer, workshop designed for members of all caregiving groups. Family, friends, and other community members may be the first to talk with a person at risk, but have little or no training. ASIST can also provide those in formal helping roles with professional development to ensure that they are prepared to provide suicide first aid help as part of the care they provide.
CE Credits
Go to www.livingworks.net to link to CEUnits for the exam to receive credits. Use the resources tab and go to the continuing education page to find the link. Click on the CEUnits link and when it comes up click on the [start here] box to register. The cost for the Continuing Education is $60 for 12 hours but you will not be charged until you pass the exam and download your certificate. You will have an evaluation of the process to complete before you print your certificate.

Refunds
Refunds are only given under special circumstances or in case of emergency, and must be cleared by the Transformational Family Counseling PC before given. Trainers do not decide the circumstances that merit a full refund.
However, if you are unable to attend, your payment can also be held and applied to the next ASIST training given by Dr. Sarmiento at any date/location that is convenient for you.
You may transfer your registration to another training led by Dr. Kathleen Sarmiento within one year from the current training end date.
